“NATIONAL MOM’S NITE OUTâ„¢” is on May 6.

Get ready…Mom is going out! The Thursday before Mother’s Day, moms across America are taking a well-deserved break as part of the Second Annual National Mom’s Nite Outâ„¢. Briarwood Mall will host this nationally organized celebration for motherhood that unites moms with a free event from 6 to 9 p.m.

Briarwood Mall will be “mom” central for mothers to come together for a great social networking opportunity. The event at Briarwood Mall will feature live demonstrations, fun interactive activities, free prize giveaways, discounted shopping from participating retailers, live entertainment from Southern Comfort, food including catering from Domino’s Catering, massage chairs and more. A presentation will be given to the Model Mom, nominated and chosen by the community through Facebook.com/BriarwoodMall. AnnArbor.Com will serve as co-host of this fun evening event, with mom-blogger, Tamara Jex-Mayrend.

As part of the event, Briarwood Mall is recognizing SafeHouse, and has an area designated to receive donations to support this center, to include gift cards, household needs, food items, clothing items, crafts and games, items for babies, and health and hygiene items. With mom’s controlling between 85 and 90 percent of household spending, Briarwood Mall is excited to give them the recognition they deserve by taking part in National Mom’s Nite Outâ„¢. National Mom’s Nite Outâ„¢ is timed just before the official Mother’s Day holiday; born out of the idea that most moms are busy taking care of other mothers on Mother's Day. National Mom's Nite Outâ„¢ gives all moms an excuse to take the night off.

Building on last year’s success, National Mom's Nite Outâ„¢ promises to be one of the largest cooperative efforts of Mommy groups, Mom-focused organizations and corporations, bloggers and vloggers-- all coming together for one great night in support of motherhood.
