Grand Rapids Press: Michigan legislators consider crowd control guidelines for Black Friday

Bad behavior among Black Friday shoppers culminated in death for a Walmart worker in 2008, raising questions across the U.S. about safety regulations and obligations for retailers.

Now Michigan legislators are proposing new rules for the shopping day.

According to an article in the Grand Rapids Press, "This week, the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration called on retailers to make the safety of store workers a top priority and released crowd-control guidelines."

And a Canton Township legislator is calling for special staffing when stores run special sales.

Black Friday will be gray this year. Nobody has any money! Once again American's are ramping up to get into more debt, buying things we can't afford. Isn't it bad enough that all of our homes and cars have been repossessed (see: http://www.repofinder.com)? I just hope we haven't forgotten what Christmas is all about
