Pie-maker alert: Grocers say canned pumpkin shortage is coming
Pumpkin may not seem like a rare delicacy around Thanksgiving, but one major manufacturer is warning that supplies of the canned variety could soon run low.
Heavy rains hurt the pumpkin harvest at an Illinois farm run by Nestle - and as a result, the company, which sells the Libby label, says it won't be packing any more pumpkin this season.
So far, the Detroit Free Press reports, local grocers aren't reporting supply problems. Yet.

I live out of state currently, in the south, and we DO have a shortage. Our local Wal-Mart ran out two weeks ago and they told us they will not be getting any more in stock.
