COACH OF THE YEAR

Todd Brunty, Saline: Saline HIgh School had won five state championships in its history before the Hornets' girls cross country and swimming teams both won team titles over a 14-day span in November. The Hornets had previously used their tremendous team depth to break Pioneer's string of SEC Red titles, but needed some big individual performances to score enough points in the deeper state championship round. “Top to bottom, it's a culmination of a lot of people's hard work," Brunty said.
