The Michigan hockey team will hold its annual teddy bear toss during the first intermission of tonight's game against Notre Dame at Yost Ice Arena.

The puck drops at 7:35 p.m.

Last year, a record 1,272 teddy bears were collected and distributed to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, The Salvation Army's Adopt a Family, along with other local charities.

The event is sponsored by the Dekers Blue Line Club.

Fans are encouraged to wrap the stuffed animals in plastic bags so they are not damaged by the rink conditions.

Michigan (8-8, 4-6 CCHA) enters tonight's game having won four of of its last five games while Notre Dame (7-7-4, 4-4-4 CCHA) is coming off two straight losses to No. 1-ranked Miami (Ohio).

The second game of this weekend's series will be played at 4 p.m. Sunday in South Bend.
