AP Top 25: Led by Kansas, the top 4 teams remain the same
Kansas, Texas, Kentucky and Purdue held the top four spots in The Associated Press' college basketball poll for the fourth consecutive week. Now, they are the only unbeaten teams left in Division I.
The Jayhawks (13-0) were again the runaway No. 1 on Monday, receiving 56 first-place votes from the 65-member national media panel. Texas (13-0) was No. 1 on 8 ballots, while Kentucky (15-0) had the remaining first-place vote.
Duke and Villanova moved up two spots to fifth and sixth, while Syracuse and West Virginia dropped to seventh and eighth. Syracuse and West Virginia each lost for the first time last week. North Carolina remained No. 9 and Michigan State moved up one spot to round out the top 10. Four teams — Gonzaga, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh and BYU — moved into the rankings from 19th to 25th.
Michael Rothstein's take: Hello, conference play. Most of the country’s leagues began conference play this week, and it led to shuffling in this week’s poll. Seven teams out, seven teams in.
One that might raise eyebrows is Tennessee. Yes, the Vols beat Memphis, a quality win, but with four of their players suspended indefinitely including star Tyler Smith, Tennessee is nowhere near a Top 25 team.
I should have gone with my gut on Ohio State not being a Top 25 team once it lost Evan.
Meanwhile, you have to like what is going on with Baylor, which has emerged as one of the nation’s top teams in part due to Michigan transfer Ekpe Udoh.
Udoh is quietly making a campaign to be considered an All-American. The guy grabbed 20 - yes, 20 - rebounds against South Carolina on Saturday. Meanwhile, Baylor enters my ballot at No. 18. Think of what Michigan might look like if Udoh had stayed in Ann Arbor.

Hey Mike Any team that loses to Harvard and Tommy Amaker (William & Mary) is not a Top 25 team.
