Charlie Weis out at as football coach at Notre Dame
The five-year Charlie Weis era has ended at Notre Dame. Jack Swarbrick, the school's athletic director, announced Monday night that Weis' contract will not be renewed for 2010.
Erik Hansen of the South Bend Tribune reports that Weis was not at his own purge press conference, as predecessors Tyrone Willingham and Bob Davie were when they were fired. But, Hansen reports, things are playing out more like "an amicable divorce than a beheading" around South Bend.
