None of the Saline High School wrestlers had beaten Chelsea freshman Taylor Cooley before, as she -- yes, she -- consistently defeated Saline's grapplers throughout junior high school.

That changed Wednesday when Saline's own freshman, Adam Bruley, gritted through 2 periods before planting Cooley with a 5 minute, 49 second-pin at 103 pounds. In the end it wasn't enough, as the Bulldogs topped the Hornets, 44-34, in what ended up being the closest of the 4 matches held during Southeastern Conference quad at Saline High School.

"We knew our match against Chelsea was going to be tough," said Saline coach Scott Marvin. "We knew it was going to come down to 1 or 2 matches and that's what it did." (Rest of the story & photo gallery)
