EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The Hill turned into a mountain.

Nick Hill set a mountain of records during his four-year football career at Chelsea High School.

The running back rushed for 6,810 yards and 96 touchdowns.

Even though he was slowed by injuries this season and didn't carry the ball in the second half of four blowouts, Hill ran for 1,989 yards and 33 TDs.

He has been named the Division 3-4 Player of the Year by the 10-member panel that selects the Associated Press All-State team.

Hill is 5-foot-7 but weighs 179 pounds and runs with power.

"He's extremely strong and powerful. He has tremendous vision and a great burst of acceleration," Chelsea coach Brad Bush said. "He always played great in the big games. He's by far the best running back we've ever had."

He's also one of the best in state history. Hill's 96 career rushing touchdowns are the second-highest, according to the Michigan High School Athletic Association Web site. His 6,810 yards rank fifth.

Willow Run lineman Garret Davis joins Hill on the Division 3-4 first team. Davis (6-3, 285) is a four-year starter and three-year captain for the Flyers.

He made 104 tackles this season and finished with 40 career sacks. Davis also played every offensive line position for Willow Run and is listed as the No. 25 center in the nation by Scout.com.

Three other Washtenaw County players -- Chelsea defensive back Zac Giller, Milan lineman Thom Box and Ypsilanti quarterback Terrance Moore -- were named to the honorable mention list.
