Nick Saban says Alabama will play Michigan in 2012; Spotlight shines on Boise State's unique stage and more
Though it's not official, on his radio show Thursday night, Alabama football coach Nick Saban said the Crimson Tide will play Michigan in 2012 in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as reported by Izzy Gould of the Tuscaloosa Bureau.
Additionally, Gould reports, "On Sept. 3, 2016, Alabama will host Michigan State. On Sept. 2, 2017 --
the last year of Saban's latest contract extension -- the Tide will visit
Michigan State, where Saban coached from 1995 through '99."
In this photo taken Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, a line of helmets sits on the sidelines during a Boise State NCAA college football practice in Boise, Idaho. The school that was playing in what used to be Division I-AA as recently as 1995, a team once known more for its funky blue field than its record, has emerged as college football's most unlikely powerhouse. Boise State has two undefeated seasons and just four losses over the last four years. And, at No. 3 in the country, it might just be the one to break the BCS. (AP Photo/Charlie Litchfield)

tater, ND isn't on the schedule for 2012 as of yet. I'm not so sure they will be either. Your point is still valid...it's a tough schedule. Personally, I enjoy it. It puts your program front and center. I also agree with most comments about the home-n-home. Here is the schedule link. http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/081809aab.html

Let's concern ourselves with winning the Big Ten and beating Ohio State before we start talking about Alabama and NC. I'd be thrilled just to see Michigan go 9-3 this year! Wow, times have changed...

The game is listed on Alabama's schedule and tickets are on sale.

@Jay, you're exactly right. Tradition and history are what sets college football apart from the pros. Playing games in "Jerry's World" only cheapens it all.

I also wish it was a home and home series. Bama fans like myself have much respect for the great tradition of UM football. I think it would have been great to see the games in Tuscaloosa and Ann Arbor.

I wish they would have done a home-and-home series. Why give Jerry Jones money for a football game that he has nothing to do with? I'd rather keep it in the school/conference.

Sounds great. My mom and brother live close to Jerry Jones World in Arlington, so my wife and I will be there! I better start saving up for the $12 hotdogs and $20 pizzas. Go Blue!
