Could the Big Ten become the Big 14?
By AnnArbor.com Staff
Conventional wisdom says the Big Ten's quest for expansion involves adding a 12th team. But don't be surprised if the conference ponders adding not just one new school, but multiple new members.
Multiple sources tell the Chicago Tribune the Big Ten is considering expansion beyond 12 teams. One source tells the Trib that "anything is possible."

I'd go with 14 if they added ND, Neb & Mizzou/Pitt. Otherwise, forget about it.

its hilarious reading all the online rumors. Read somewhere that the Big Ten was going to push for Texas to join. While that'd be good for the conference I couldn't see it happening. Also I don't think we should add to 16 teams, maybe 14 or add 3 teams and ditch 2 poor athletic teams to get to 12. Its going to be a crazy 12-18 months of rumors though

I don't have a problem with 14 either. If one team leaves the Big East or the Big 12, get ready for some big re-allignment anyways. I say bring Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Rutgers on.

12 teams would be more than enough. Going to 14 teams would be too difficult to find quality schools interested in joining the conference.
