Dexter maxes out with 8th-place finish
ROCHESTER -- A state championship was out of reach for the Dexter High School swimming and diving team. So all coach Cory Bergen could ask of his team was to swim its best races this weekend at Oakland University.

Each of Dexter’s eight Division 2 state qualifiers posted lifetime-best times during Friday’s preliminaries or Saturday’s finals, leading the Dreadnaughts to an eighth-place finish.
“It was pretty close to a perfect meet for us,” said Bergen. “We did as well as we could have done.”
Holland won seven of 12 events on Saturday, but finished four points behind Farmington Hills Mercy in the final team standings, 282-278. Dexter finished with 134 points. (Complete results)
