Friday, EMU athletic director Derrick Gragg issued a statement that can be read at EMUEagles.com
A portion of Gragg's statement:
This occurred in the heat of a hotly contested game with extreme emotions on both sides, and is not representative of the professionalism of Eastern Michigan University Athletics.

Ramsey is a disgrace!! No way EMU can keep this nutjob and expect to earn national respect.

I listed to every second of the game on WEMU - the players fought back and played their hearts out - great effort guys. Having said that - many will spin this season as a huge success - basically because the bar is so low. I just dont see how a.500 season during a year when the MAC was down, was a success. Dobbins, Medlock and Beaudry are all all-conference level players and the team was inconsistent all season and never found its rythmn. With out Medlock guiding the way next year, one can only expect a drop in performance. In other words, the Ramsey Experiment is over... 5 years is enough time to build a winner and a winning season was in order this year. Heck, this team should have won 23 games! The talent he had on this team was the best in more than a decade - and the best we could do was 17-15 overall and 8-8 in the conference? I salute the guys for working hard and it was a great game, but the coaching is to be desired. How long will the AD protect this coach - that is the question.
