Ten days after losing to Michigan on its home field, the Eastern Michigan baseball team scored eight unanswered runs to beat the Wolverines 8-2 Wednesday at Oestrike Stadium.

Eastern sophomore starting pitcher Brian Valente allowed two runs, both unearned, as he went five innings to record his second win of the season in his fourth start.

Eastern relievers Tim Combs, Collin Taylor, Kristian Calibuso and Joe Battistelli followed with a hitless inning apiece.

Senior Robert Wendzicki was 3-for-5 at the plate for the Eagles (16-9), including an RBI single in the fifth inning that gave Eastern a 4-2 lead.

Sophomore Patrick Biondi gave Michigan (6-16) a 2-0 lead in the top of the second with a two-out, two-run single.

Michigan beat Eastern 5-2 on March 20 in the Oestrike Classic.
