Eastern Michigan men's basketball loses 74-68 at James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Rayshawn Goens and Denzel Bowles each had a double-double and James Madison defeated Eastern Michigan 74-68 on Saturday night.

Goens scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Bowles scored 21 points and grabbed 11 boards while going 13 for 13 from the free-throw line.

Brandon Bowdry had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles (1-4).

The Dukes (5-1) scored 40 points in the paint and 16 more points came off of 17 Eastern Michigan turnovers in their fifth straight win.

James Madison trailed by as many as six, 17-11, in the first half and answered with six straight to tie it. Bowles connected on a three-point play with 4 seconds remaining until halftime to put the Dukes ahead 24-23 at the break. James Madison led the rest of the way.
