Eastern Michigan football projects as worst team in the country in 2010

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Eastern Michigan should get its first win under football coach Ron English in the 2010 season. That's about the nicest thing said about the Eagles in the Orlando Sentinel's 2010 college football guide.

The Sentinel's counting down the days until the college season begins by ranking the 2010 Division I-A teams from 120 to 1.

Here's a link to their breakdown of Eastern Michigan.

EMU is too Ghetto. The black players will purposely try to injure the white players at practice thats why I quit the team in 2002.

It's never made any sense to me that CMU, WMU and other MAC schools can have decent teams from time to time but EMU never does. One could argue that EMU is in closer proximity to richer recruiting than Mt Pleasant or K-zoo. I don't buy the "Ypsilanti" theory. If you can build a competitive MAC team in Toledo you should be able to do it in Ypsi.

Announcer, my post was in jest to the comment made by Tater suggesting that EMU is "saddled" by "Ypsilanti" as an address. The arrogance of such posts always gives way to chuckles and jest.

at cash....... "If a player can read a map he will see that Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor are within a few miles of each other. And a football player that we would want in Ypsilanti can read a map. All others can hold out and go to Ann Arbor. " Really? So you are infering that if a player goes to A^2 they cannot read a map? That is exactly what you are saying and that is ludicrous. I agree 100% with tater. Until Ypsi can clean up the mess, no recruit who can in fact read a map will go to Ypsi. Why? Because if they can decipher a map, then they can read, they can see, they can hear and all of those things that you can clearly see about Ypsi, all of those things you read about Ypsi make everything you hear about Ypsi, the truth.

I believe that this prediction is false, I'm not saying it Eastern is going to be the best team this season but there won't be much more proven there were last season. With a lot of guys returning to coach English had all the time he needs to train his players in the style of football that he wants to play is going to pay dividends this season. Plus when you look at the breakdown the MAC central Michigan has a new coach and they lost their star quarterback and Western Michigan lost a number of good players including their star quarterback is going to get Eastern a very good chance to pick up some good wins this season
