Eastern Michigan plans viewing party for women's basketball team's WNIT game against Syracuse
The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team is on the road Thursday for its third-round Women’s National Invitation Tournament game, but the EMU student center will be open so fans can watch the 7 p.m. game against Syracuse.
Admission to the viewing party is free and will showcase the web broadcast feed from Syracuse. The game is not televised, but will be broadcast on WEMU-FM (89.1).
Eastern, 24-12 overall, advanced Monday as Cassie Schrock scored 20 points and had seven assists as the Eagles topped UNC-Wilmington, 63-54. Syracuse, 24-9, beat St. Bonaventure in the second round. The winner will face Toledo or Alabama in a WNIT quarterfinal game.

Am glad to know about the coverage on WEMU. The women have been playing well and hope they continue to win. It is a good experience for them and we should encourage them by game attendance in the future. Players do respond to the crowd, especially in tight situations.
