By AnnArbor.com Staff

The Eastern Michigan women's volleyball team started the postseason out on the right foot on Tuesday, defeating Bowling 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 28-26) to advance to the second round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

The Eagles were led by freshman Paige Roback who had a double-double performance with 13 kills and 15 digs and sophomore Rachel Iaquaniello who had 14 kills.

While the first two sets were run-aways in the Eagles' favor, they had their work cut out for them to close out the Falcons. The two teams exchanged the lead 15 times before the Eagles finally broke a 26-26 tie for the final two points and the win.

The No. 5 seeded Eagles will face No. 4 Northern Illinois in quarterfinal action on Friday at the SeaGate Centre in Toledo, Oh. (EMUEagles.com Story)
