Eastern Michigan women's basketball loses MAC title game to Bowling Green
Bowling Green won its fifth Mid-American Conference women's basketball tournament title in seven years, beating Eastern Michigan 51-46 Saturday at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
Two-time MAC Player of the Year Lauren Prochaska struggled from the floor -- connecting on just 3 of 13 shots -- but made 13 free throws on her way to a game-high 20 points and tournament MVP honors for the Falcons (28-4).
Tavelyn James scored 19 points for Eastern Michigan (22-12), the first fifth seed to appear in the conference's championship game.
A James 3-pointer tied the game at 35-35, but Bowing Green answered with a seven-point run to gain control.

These EMU ladies not only lost by 5 points to Bowling Green, but they BEAT #4 seed Kent on Wednesday and #1 seed Toledo on Friday. These ladies deserve a lot of credit for the way they played. We know that EMU doesn't get a lot of press, but they have done better in post-season basketball than U/M has. Some people are interested in that other school down the road.
