Eastern Michigan women's basketball team beats Toledo in overtime

Sophomore Tavelyn James tied an Eastern Michigan school record with 40 points on Tuesday night in an 89-84 victory over Toledo at the Convocation Center.
Thirteen of the points came in overtime, including an 8-for-8 performance at the free-throw line.
James' performance helped her break the 1,000-point mark for her career in less than two full seasons. She finished the game with 1,008 career points.Â
The win secures a No. 5 seed for the Eagles as they head into the MAC Tournament. Eastern will host No. 12 seed University at Buffalo here at the Convocation Center, March 6. The game will start at 2 p.m.Â
