EMU women's basketball tops Northern Illinois, U-M swimming leads at SMU Classic

The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team rallied from a sluggish first half for a 72-63 win over Northern Illinois University at the Convocation Center on Saturday.

After shooting 11-of-35 (.314) in the first half, the Eagles warmed up to make 14-of-22 (.636) from the field in the second half.

Sophomore guard Tavelyn James led the Eagles (13-3, 3-1 MAC) with a game-high 29 points. Junior guard Cassie Schrock added 17.

After trailing by as many as 12 points in the first half, Eastern would lead by as many as 10 in the second half, according to EMUEagles.com.
