EMU women's basketball wins sixth straight, 83-56 at Western Michigan

The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team continued its hot streak Wednesday night with a 27-point win at Western Michigan.

Senior guard Tavelyn James scored 30 points as the Eagles won their sixth straight game, cruising past the Broncos, 83-56, at University Arena in Kalamazoo.

Eastern Michigan (18-7, 10-2 MAC West) is outscoring its opponents by an average of 24.5 points during its current winning streak and each game has been decided by at least 10 points.

James made 13-of-24 shots Wednesday to score 20-plus points for the 16th time this season.

Sophomore guard Natachia Watkins added 20 points and eight rebounds for Eastern Michigan and sophomore forward Olivia Fouty contributed 13 point and 15 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the year.

James and Watkins combined to score 36 points in the first half as the Eagles took a 43-24 halftime lead.

Rachel Adaline scored 14 points to lead Western Michigan (6-19, 3-9).

Eastern Michigan remains tied for first place in the MAC West standings with Toledo (17-7, 10-2), which beat Central Michigan on Wednesday.

I have to agree with Rico. EMU Women's Team is Very Good and fun to watch. Also reasonably priced tickets and FREE parking. GO GREEN, GO WHITE!

If you have the chance you should go check out an EMU women's basketball game. They are enjoyable to watch.
