Ex-Michigan assistant coaches meet when Eastern Michigan football team takes on Ball State
Eastern Michigan football coach Ron English used to be the defensive coordinator at Michigan. Ball State coach Stan Parrish was an offensive coordinator.
The two former members of Lloyd Carr's coaching staff at Michigan meet for the second time Saturday when Eastern Michigan is at Ball State. Parrish and the Cardinals won last season, 29-27, at Rynearson Stadium.

The Eagles: Sophomore wide receiver Kinsman Thomas has 29 receptions for 594 yards and seven touchdowns. Freshman punter Jay Karutz averages 40.26 yards per kick. Senior running back Dwayne Priest averages 4.4 yards per carry and has 340 yards rushing. Saturday’s game marks the 999th in the Eastern Michigan football team’s 118 years of existence. The Eagles' trip to Virginia on Oct. 23 will be the 1,000th game. The Cardinals: Ball State is coached by former Michigan offensive coordinator Stan Parrish, who is 4-15 at Ball State. Eric Williams is the Cardinals’ leading rusher, averaging 60.5 yards per game. He’s scored three touchdowns and is 20th in the nation in kickoff returns with a 28.4 average. Keith Wenning, a true freshman, has started the last four games at quarterback. He is 41-of-73 passing for 389 yards and three touchdowns.

I'll always be a fan of former coaches and players that have passed through schembechler hall. Best of luck to both, especially Ron English, he deserves a few wins.
