By AnnArbor.com Staff

With a Five Nations Tournament title already wrapped up, the U.S. Under-17 Select Team still had one thing to accomplish Saturday night at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.

A sweep.

Team USA did just that, finishing the round-robin tournament unbeaten with a convincing 5-1 win over Switzerland.

"The players deserve all the credit in going undefeated," said coach Bob Corkum. "They bought into the system and concept of togetherness that our coaching staff preached en route to the title."

The U.S. jumped out to a 3-0 first-period lead after goals from Michael Turner, Daniel Vanderwiel and Vinni Lettieri. Ryan Siroky and Gabe Guertler completed the scoring and goaltender Devin Williams blanked Switzerland in the second and third periods, making 33 saves.

Siroky added two assists against Switzerland, giving him six points (three goals, three assists) in the four-game tournament. Switzerland's Luca Fazzini, who scored his team's only goal against Team USA, finished with a tournament-high six goals and seven total points.
