Update: Former Ann Arbor teacher Darome Jenkins just fine in Hawaii
After his name was caught up in the media whirlwind created at the Super Bowl, it turns out former Ann Arbor Public Schools teacher Darome Jenkins is safely at his home in Hawaii.
Jenkins' son, Green Bay Packers defensive end Cullen Jenkins, told reporters that he was concerned about his father's whereabouts after being unable to reach him since late December. That resulted in numerous reports that Darome Jenkins was missing.
On Thursday night, Honolulu Police Department spokesperson Michelle Yu told The Associated Press that police contacted Darome Jenkins after several media inquiries were made. He's fine.
Cullen Jenkins, a Belleville High School graduate, is in his seventh year with the Green Bay. The Packers face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Sunday's Super Bowl.
Darome Jenkins was a drama teacher at Forsythe Middle Schol before retiring to Hawaii. He also coached high school football coach at Whitmore Lake and Willow Run high schools.

Thanks for reporting this aa.com! This really is newsworthy! I haven't been able to sleep about this. Thank goodness you got back to us quick with an update. So many people complain about the "new" aa.com, but between an article like this and the way you censor every other comment, that's what makes this the gosh darn best newspaper that's not really a newspaper because they couldn't afford to be a newspaper anymore EVER!!!

@G2inA2 If you had 2 sons who BOTH played in the NFL you could afford a home in Hawaii!

Yeah "a place" could be a really modest apartment in HI. Its possible if you're smart and frugal.
