Former Eastern Michigan coach Jeff Genyk's background gets special attention at Cal

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Jeff Genyk brings a reputation as something of a gunslinger into his new job as special teams coach at Cal.

That's not necessarily reality, according to Ron Kroichick, who caught up to the former Eastern Michigan football coach for this story.

Best quote in the story is from Genyk, on how his experience in Ypsilanti will shape how he approaches his job on the West Coast:

"It certainly should bring the ability to be decisive," Genyk told The Chronicle. "Maybe not always correct, but I think anytime you have five years of college head-coaching experience, it really allows you to make quick decisions."
