Updated May 1: Upcoming golf scrambles: Huron raises funds for cancer research, EMU's E-Gridiron Group plans 9th annual outing

Saturday, May 19: The Huron High School "Real Rats Wear Pink" Relay for Life team is hosting its first "Swing For A Cure" golf outing fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society at Hickory Creek Golf Course in Ypsilanti. An entry fee of $85 per golfer or $340 per foursome for the four-person scramble includes a continental breakfast, bag drop service, prizes and lunch. Saturday, June 9: The ninth annual E-Gridiron Group Golf Outing to support the Eastern Michigan University football team will be held at Eagle Crest Golf Club here in Ypsilanti. The cost is $150 for an individual golfer. A special rate of $100 is available for young EMU football alumni from the classes of 2007 through 2011. Tickets for the dinner only portion of the event are $25.
