Seems like Huron lost the most from last years teams. Is this finally the year Skyline makes a splash? Will Pioneer finally put a dent into Hurons dominance? And what is the deal with Gabriel Richard, they have been down for years? Seems like the overall talent level in the area is down. Who are the D1 players in this area?

I've only followed high school basketball for past five years, and in this area Huron has been the best team. You are right though, it's not about D1 players only, but it sure was nice following those Huron teams the last few years. I thought Skyline had the best talent last year. But Huron and Pioneer still beat them. I follow Michigan Football and basketball more than high school sports, but it's fun to see big time high school basketball games too. You get those big crowds when you have really good players, so I was hoping some of the local high schools had players worth coming out to see.

Boo, Huron, while always solid, has really only been elite for the last 3 years because of a tremendous group of players that have graduated over the past two years. Pioneer has been good for a long time. We are 126-34 in the past 7 years with a trip to the semi finals and an undefeated regular season. Gabriel Richard has won 4 or 5 district titles and also had a trip to the semi finals during that period of time. Skyline is just starting but has finished above .500 in their first two years of having a varsity. It isn't just about D1 players. There are at least 10-12 kids on those 4 teams that will play college basketball. We have very good basketball here in town with all 4 of these programs.
