Ann Arbor grads Barott, Duerksen, Monroe earn college sports honors
Kelcy Barott
“Kelcy Barott did a great job during the second half of the season,” CSU coach Mike Moody said in a release. “She got a lot of playing time due to injuries, and she really stepped up and adapted well to a starting position. I’m really excited about her future here at CSU.”
Barott had 14 goals, 16 steals and 25 ejections drawn during her freshman season.
“It’s definitely an honor,” Barott said. “It’s very humbling, and I’m very appreciative and grateful to say the least.”
Duerksen in Indiana record book
Pioneer graduate Kelsey Duerksen, a distance runner at Indiana, was named the Big Ten Track and Field Athlete of the Week after recording a conference-best time in the 1,500-meter run at the Border Battle in Louisville. Her time of 4:18.81 is the fourth-best time in Indiana program history.
Monroe earns third all-conference honor
Huron graduate David Monroe was one of five Adrian College players named to the MLC All-Conference first team. The senior led the Bulldog attack with 65 points (31 goals, 34 assists) this season. It’s the third consecutive year Monroe has been named to the league’s first team.
