Boys golf teams from Dexter, Chelsea and Father Gabriel Richard advance to regionals

Welcome to the party Dexter, Chelsea and Father Gabriel Richard.

The boys golf teams from those three Washtenaw County high schools advanced to the regional round after finishing in the top six in district tournaments on Friday.

They join teams from Saline, Skyline, Greenhills and Whitmore Lake that qualified in Thursday district tournaments.

A Division 2 district at Monroe Golf and Country Club, which included Milan, was postponed because of rain. It will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Division 2 at Marshall Country Club: Dexter finished fifth (332) and Chelsea sixth (339) to take the last two automatic qualifying spots. Brennan Conter shot a 76 to lead the Dreadnaughts and Bourke Lodewyk carded a 79 for Chelsea. Battle Creek Harper Creek won the team title. (Scores)

Division 3 at Legacy Golf Course, Ottawa Lake: Led by Tyler Madden’s 76, Father Gabriel Richard finished fourth in the team standings (330) to advance to regionals. Manchester finished 10th at the 12-team tournament with a 382. Grosse Ile shot a tournament-best 304 and had three of the top four individual players. (Scores)
