Colton Judge leads on the court, in the huddle for Whitmore Lake

By Kaleb Roedel

WHITMORE LAKE -- Leading by only eight points late in the first half against one-win Sand Creek, Whitmore Lake High School boys basketball coach Dave Arnold called a timeout.

Rather than joining his players gathered near the sideline, Arnold never left the bench. Instead, he looked on as senior guard Colton Judge centered himself in the Trojans' huddle and delivered an animated pep talk.

"I was telling them that we have to keep it up the rest of the game," said Judge. "Normally, in a game like this, we let the other team back. I was just making sure that didn't happen."

He certainly did his part, scoring nine points in the final three minutes of the first half and scoring a game-high 30 points in a 98-59 Tri-County Conference win on Thursday.

"He really stepped up," said Arnold. "He's far more vocal in huddles and practice. He's taking charge, trying to get guys in the right spots." (Rest of the Story | Boxscore)
