County wrestling leaders square off at Chelsea quad; Dexter swimming wins

The Manchester High School wrestling team boasts some of the top individual records in Washtenaw County. But because the Flying Dutchmen are in the Cascades Conference and compete in Division 4 in the postseason, they rarely compete against some of their closest neighbors, Dexter and Chelsea.

The schools took advantage of an open week in their respective conference schedules on Tuesday and used it to settle some local debate, competing in a quad meet at Chelsea High School with Williamston filling the fourth slot.

The host Bulldogs were the only team to emerge unscathed from the local showdown, defeating Manchester (45-19) and Williamston (63-18).

"We're turning a corner right now," said Chelsea coach Kerry Kargel. "The kids are really starting to believe in themselves." (Rest of the Story)
