As the game got underway at Hornet Stadium Friday night, there were probably more than a few Saline High School fans scratching their heads and wondering, 'Where is Garrett Gordon?'

Gordon wasn't wearing the No. 2 jersey that Hornets' fans are accustomed to, but Gordon didn't take long to distinguish himself anew against visiting Huron. Wearing number 99, Gordon broke off a 43-yard run on the third play of the game and scored three plays later to give Saline a lead it would never relinquish.

In a battle between two teams that both needed a win to keep playoff hopes alive, Saline (3-3, 2-2 SEC) recorded a 17-6 win over Huron (2-4, 1-3 SEC).

Both offenses struggled to move the ball, as Saline generated 218 yards of offense and Huron gained 125 yards. Which makes the night that Gordon had—15 carries for 136 yards—look that much more impressive.

Tack on a 33-yard kickoff return and three punt returns for a total of 64 yards and Gordon accounted for 233 all-purpose yards.
