Dexter cross country coach Katie Jazwinski qualifies for 2012 Olympic Trials

Katie Jazwinski Metro Health Grand Rapids Marathon 2010

Katie Jazwinski is a busy lady. When she's not teaching at Dexter's Mill Creek Middle School, coaching the Dexter High School girls cross country team or attending to her two young children, Jessica, 3, and Bobby, 1, the former University of Michigan All-America runner is training for marathons.

And apparently doing a very good job of it.

Running in her first ever competitive marathon, Jazwinski, 31, was the top female finisher at the seventh annual Metro Health Grand Rapid Marathon on Sunday. Her time of 2 hours, 44 minutes, 59 seconds not only broke the Grand Rapids Marathon record by more than 13 minutes, it qualified her for the 2012 Olympic Trials.
