In the first round of district play, Ann Arbor Huron coach Reese Richardson credited Jeff Camalo for his selflessness. Camalo opted to pass the ball to an open teammate in front of the goal when he had an opportunity to shoot.
Despite the fact that Camalo had been struggling to find the goal lately, and despite the fact that the game was out of hand already in what would become a 9-1 win over Wayne Memorial, Camalo made the right play rather than the greedy one.
Camalo got his just desserts on Thursday night, scoring what could officially be the game-winner in the 10th minute of a 8-0 win over Dearborn Edsel Ford.
Camalo was one of eight players to register at least one point in the game as the River Rats advanced to the final round of district play with the win at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School. Huron will play Dearborn High School in the Division 1 district finals on Saturday at Pioneer at 1 p.m.
