Encouraging performance for Skyline volleyball in loss to Bedford
Even though the Skyline volleyball team couldn't pull off a victory over Temperance Bedford Tuesday night, the young Eagles team had a strong showing against the Kicking Mules, who remain unbeaten in Southeastern Conference play.
Bedford (39-5-1) won in straight sets, but the match was a good test for the Eagles, whose efforts were led by sophomores Katie Austin (18 digs, eight kills), and Maggie Halloran (11 kills, two blocks).
"We play a lot better when we play better teams," said Austin. Halloran agreed.
"When you don't play a good team you kind of play down to their level," said Halloran. "So you don't learn a lot of good skills, and you may learn some bad skills that aren't that useful, but playing against a team like (Bedford) we kind of played up to them, so we learned new techniques for success."
