Fourth-quarter run leads Huron boys past Ypsilanti

After nine lead changes, seven ties and a game-high six-point Huron lead - which was cut in half just 12 seconds later - the teams were tied 49-49 headed into the final eight minutes of play.
Get back that six-point cushion, the River Rats urged themselves in the huddle, and the game between Southeastern Conference division leaders would be theirs to lose.
Three frantic minutes later, Huron had officially overachieved. A 16-0 run to open the fourth quarter blew open the back-and-forth affair and led the River Rats to a 69-58 win in front of a near-capacity crowd at the Riverdome.
"When we started the fourth quarter, we said that we were playing well enough to get six- or eight-point leads, but we weren't playing smart enough to keep it," Huron coach Waleed Samaha said. "So we had to play a little smarter in that fourth quarter, which we did. And we made some great plays defensively to break it open." (Rest of the Story & Photo Gallery | Boxscore)
