Friday night action from all sports not named football
The gridiron wasn't the only busy place on Friday night as several local teams were in action in "other" sports, including field hockey, where eight different players scored for Pioneer in its 8-0 victory over Skyline.
Down the road, but playing the same game, Greenhills had a makeup game against Detroit Country Day after their originally scheduled game was called off due to rain. The Gryphons lost, 3-0.
Adjacent to the field hockey game, the Greenhills boys soccer team made up its rain date and defeated Southfield Christian 4-3 (boxscore). The Gryphons let a 3-0 lead slip away, but gathered their composure and scored a game winner in triple overtime. (Rest of the Story)
