From the halls to the end zone: Lincoln senior Marcus Williams proves quick study at receiver

Rumors of recruiting - coaches poaching players from outside their programs - often swirl through high-school athletics. Given the difficulty in proving a player's recruitment, few people go public with such accusations.

Lincoln football coach Chris Westfall, though, doesn't attempt to hide his efforts to haul in Marcus Williams.

"We recruited him," Westfall said, "out of our own hallways. I can tell you we're very glad he's here."

Out of the hallways?

Williams, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound senior, skipped football during his first three years of high school, while playing basketball and running track. "I don't even watch the NFL," Williams said. (Full story)
