Gabriel Richard scores 36 third-quarter points in win over Flint Powers and more Thursday results

Gabriel Richard outscored Flint Powers Catholic 35-18 in the third quarter, with Even Fosha leading the Fighting Irish with 26 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Jason Houle scored 18 points, followed by Ashton Hundley, 12, and Ryan Johnson, 11 for Gabriel Richard (8-11, 4-4 Catholic League).

“We turned our pressure up in the third quarter and turned them over quite a bit,” Gabriel Richard assistant coach Brian Parin said. “The first four minutes of the quarter we huge for us and allowed us to overcome their halftime lead that’s probably the best quarter of basketball we’ve played all season.

Led by Marquis Wesley's double-double, 14 points and 10 rebounds, 10 Ann Arbor Skyline players scored as the Eagles gained the Southeastern Conference Red Division home win.

Peter Bakker-Arkema scored 11 points for Skyline (9-10, 6-6), while Tristan Wilson added 10 points and Jack Clark had 10 points and four steals. Travonn Banks collected six steals.

"It was senior night, our seniors played real well. ... One of our best defensive performances of the season," Skyline coach Mike Lovelace said. "We started the game off strong, set the tone for the game. Our defensive intensity was excellent, and we held them under 10 each quarter."

Lincoln outscored Tecumseh 15-2 in the second quarter, with Lazon Hicks leading the Railsplitters (8-11, 5-7 SEC White) with 16 points and seven rebounds.

“I thought our defensive pressure was the difference,” Lincoln coach Rich Marion said. “We really started to figure out how to trap them in a variety of ways starting in the second quarter. Once we got the game sped up to where we wanted to play we did really good. We played excellent defense in both trapping and in our half-court defense in the second and third.”

Ypsilanti opened the game on a 20-3 run to take control and improve to 15-4, 11-1 SEC White. Jaylen Johnson led Ypsilanti with 18 points, while Corey Allen added 14.

Logan Brown led Chelsea (3-16, 2-10 SEC White) with 11 points.

"I think Steve does a great job with his kids over there, and they are a model program for us to aspire to be," Chelsea coach Rourke Skelton said. "They work really hard on both ends of the floor, play together, and do everything the right way."

Greenhills (17-1, 14-0 MIAC) jumped out to a strong start, outscoring West Bloomfield Frankel Jewish Academy of Metropolitan Detroit 41-28 in the first half, led by Andrew Khouri with a game-high 24 points.

Emmet Kulka led Greenhills on the glass with seven rebounds, and added 11 points, three steals, two assists, and one block.

"We got out with a lot of energy, and we had a great student crowd on senior night," Greenhills coach Andrew Wright said. "We've got a great group of seven seniors and they played with a lot of energy tonight."

Taylor Baptist Park opened the game on a 18-9 run to take control and improve to 12-5.

James Pipe led Washtenaw Christian (11-8) with 15 points, while Brian Stout added 13.

"We went into the game flat, tried to made a game of it in the second half, but just couldn't get it done," Washtenaw Christian coach Dan Benefiel said. "We've struggled with academics, injuries, and health issues this season."
