Greenhills freshman Henry Do, shown in this AnnArbor.com file photo, was match medalist with a 3-under-par 68 at Bald Mountain Golf Course in Lake Orion on Friday.
Based on the latest coaches association poll, the boys golf teams from third-ranked Ann Arbor Greenhills and fourth-ranked Auburn Hills Oakland Christian were the favorites at Friday's Division 4 regional at Bald Mountain Golf Course in Lake Orion.
Those teams finished first and second, but who knew there's 28 strokes separating No. 3 and No. 4?
Led by the top two individual scores in the 12-team field, Greenhills shot a combined 18-over-par 302 to run away with the event and advance to the Division 4 state finals at nearby Eagle Crest Golf Course in Ypsilanti.
Oakland Christian (330) and Royal Oak Shrine (335) finished a distant second and third to claim the other two qualifying spots.
Greenhills freshman Henry Do shot a 3-under-par 68 at the 6,624-yard course. His nearest competition was his own teammate, Travis Hindle, who shot 73.
