Huron stays atop SEC Red standings and more Thursday night results

The Huron High School basketball team did its part to stay atop the Southeastern conference Red Division standings on Thursday with a 58-40 win over Monroe on the road. ( Story | Boxscore)

The River Rats also got a little help in its quest for a league title as cross-town rival Skyline beat Pioneer 64-51, knocking the Pioneers out of the three-way tie for first.

Huron is now tied with just Bedford -- which faces Saline on Friday -- in the race for the league title. Huron will play at Bedford on Tuesday in a game which will determine the conference championship.
