High school roundup: Manchester rallies for Cascades tourney title and more Thursday results

By AnnArbor.com Staff

The Manchester High School baseball team rallied for four runs in the final two innings to beat Napoleon, 4-3, in the Cascades Conference tournament championship game.

The Flying Dutchmen (24-8) won in walk-off fashion on Cameron LaDoucer’s RBI in the bottom of the seventh.

Manchester didn’t have a hit against Napoleon starter Hayden Witte until it put together a three-run sixth inning to tie the game.

Jake Laurel, who scored the winning run, also picked up the win on the mound. He pitched one inning of relief and escaped a bases-loaded jam in the top of the seventh inning.

Manchester starter Sam Stachnik allowed seven hits and three runs through six innings. (Boxscore)

Austin Pittman had a solo home run and John Forward two RBIs for Napoleon (18-16).
