High school roundup: Manchester rallies for Cascades tourney title and more Thursday results
The Manchester High School baseball team rallied for four runs in the final two innings to beat Napoleon, 4-3, in the Cascades Conference tournament championship game.
The Flying Dutchmen (24-8) won in walk-off fashion on Cameron LaDoucer’s RBI in the bottom of the seventh.
Manchester didn’t have a hit against Napoleon starter Hayden Witte until it put together a three-run sixth inning to tie the game.
Jake Laurel, who scored the winning run, also picked up the win on the mound. He pitched one inning of relief and escaped a bases-loaded jam in the top of the seventh inning.
Manchester starter Sam Stachnik allowed seven hits and three runs through six innings. (Boxscore)
Austin Pittman had a solo home run and John Forward two RBIs for Napoleon (18-16).
