Nine Washtenaw County wrestlers win districts, 35 advance to regionals

The Manchester High School wrestling team had 13 of its 14 team members place in the top four at the Division 4 individual district championships at Blissfield High School over the weekend, including three individual champions.

In total, 35 Washtenaw County wrestlers advanced to next weekend's regional round of competition. On Saturday, all regional qualifiers will compete for an opportunity to advance to the individual state championships at the Palace of Auburn Hills March 1-3.

Below are the results from the various tournaments:

INDIVIDUAL DISTRICT RESULTS

Division 1 at Temperance Bedford: Lincoln qualifies three, including two champions, Saline qualifies five. (Results)

Division 2 at Milan: Milan's Chris Gaskill took third at 160 and was the Big Reds lone qualifier. (Story | Results)

Division 2 at Dexter: Ypsilanti sends five, Dexter and Chelsea each send four to regionals. (Story | Results)
