Huron boys golf, Saline girls track lead Team of the Week voting frenzy

By Kyle Austin

Last week, we had two teams mount voting drives to become's Team of the Week, and the result was our biggest voter turnout yet.

This week, we’ve got all five making pushes to win this week’s poll. And the voter turnout is that much larger.

As of mid-day Wednesday, we’ve had nearly 1,500 votes cast for this week’s Team of the Week vote. The Huron boys golf team held a slim lead over the Saline girls track team, each with just over 400 votes cast.

Close behind is the Pioneer girls lacrosse team, with 311 votes cast, followed by Father Gabriel Richard baseball with 221 and Chelsea baseball with 113.

All five are still in the race: our poll will stay open until noon Friday. The winner will then become the focus of our coverage next week, including game overage, feature stories, a photo gallery and more.

So vote early and often.
