The lack of trust Bill DeGroot noticed early on with his Huron High School hockey team came in the form of misplaced passes and deflections around the net that seemed to just be off-target.

But once the River Rats established some confidence not only in one another, but in an offensive system that was sparked by an impressive top-line performance, all of the elements that once seemed disjointed suddenly came together.

Nick Daze registered three goals and an assist while linemate Henry Upton produced another two goals as Huron used a third-period flurry to pull away from Willow Run-Belleville 7-2 in a pre-regional semifinal Wednesday night at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.
