The lack of a story by aa.com is disappointing, but not surprising. This was a mini state tournament, and all they could mention was a blurb. They had a photographer, couldn't a reporter have come out? Couldn't they have asked for some quotes? I noticed that the Saline Coach was quoted on Mlive, but did not see anything from the Huron Coach who won the tournament.

It really is a shame. The Ann Arbor and Saline girls and boys teams have been exceptional the past few years, with major talents like Mary Hanna, Jack Petersen and Jason Kerst doing their schools proud. If you are interested, a reporter for the Oakland County Press (Jason Schmitt) does an excellent job covering Michigan High School tennis. Obviously the focus is on Oakland County athletes, but our teams are so good they often get discussed. Why can the Oakland County Press make it a priority and have the budget to do so? I can't answer that one.
