DETROIT - The Michigan hockey team came in as an underdog to extend its run of NCAA appearances to 20 years.

After shocking top-seed Miami (Ohio) Friday night, the Wolverines captured their ninth Mason Cup with a 2-1 win over Northern Michigan at Joe Louis Arena.
