Images from the first half of the first day of high school football practice

By Melanie Maxwell

Different high school football programs have different philosophies when it comes to two-a-day practices. Some like to start early, others late. Saline High School and Ypsilanti Community both took the early-bird mentality and got their first practices of the first day of practice started bright and early at 6 a.m. Monday. Instead of a worm, the players received a torrential downpour. Huron and Pioneer are the night owls of the group and we'll have photos from their first practices later. Hopefully they can manage to stay a little more dry.
