Milan girls basketball rallies, Dexter swimming dominates and more Thursday results
GROSSE ILE -- The Milan High School girls basketball team battled back from a big first-half deficit to win at Grosse Ile Thursday night and remain unbeaten in Huron League play.
A three-point play by Lani Ernst with 1:10 remaining in the game gave the Big Reds the lead for good in a 53-50 win.
"It's a tough place to play and a pivotal game in our attempt to go undefeated this year," said Milan coach Jeff Scott.
After Ernst gave Milan (12-2, 10-0) a 51-50 lead, Lindsey Lammers finished the scoring by hitting a pair of free throws with 27 seconds remaining. Grosse Ile never got a shot off in its final attempt to tie the game. (Rest of the Story | Boxscore)
